2014 Spring Festival and 10th Anniversary Dinner

Spring Festival is the most important traditional festival for Chinese people. Every year our school holds a spring dinner to celebrate this special festival and to welcome the lunar new year.  It is also a time for all Ji Hong friends to get together, to wish each other good health, good fortune and happiness in the coming year.

On Feb 22, 2014, Master Bao Sen Liang, his students, families and friends gathered at the Golden Court Restaurant in Richmond Hill to celebrate the year of the horse.  This year is a special celebration as we are also celebrating the 10th anniversary of the school.  There were over 200 people participated in this special event.

In his speech, Master Liang thanked the students who had helped him to set up Ji Hong Tai Chi College in Richmond Hill 10 years ago, and all those who endlessly help and support him in ensuring the growth of the school.  Master Chan Hay, a good friend of Master Liang, presented him a piece of Chinese painting made by Master Chan himself, to honour Master Liang’s accomplishment in Tai Chi Chuan and the establishment of the school.

During the dinner, there were lion dance, tai chi performances, kung fu performances, games and lucky draw.  Henry, on behalf of the student association, presented Master Liang a set of Chinese art work incorporating Master Liang’s own calligraphy. One of the students, Jenny, also made a special cake for the 10th anniversary celebration.

The spring dinner is Ji Hong’s biggest event of the year, and it was indeed a very joyous celebration.
